The Wyrd is full set

The Wyrd System is a system to support resolving the outcomes of events. It is designed to handle any type or scale of event; to be quick to interpret as the GM or in solo play; and to allow for the results of rolls to be hidden from players. 

At its simplest, the system has the GM roll a d12 (the Wyrd die) and a player roll a d8 (a Will die). The difference of the numbers is found. The smaller the difference the more things go the way the player characters want.

It is a powerful, useful dice system that can support running of likely any type of adventure or other system, with its focus on events (over actions), granular but quick to interpret results, and the option for hidden results. 

What is "The Wyrd"?

This is the system that I use when I run games, I made it to play in my Wyrd Lands setting and it captures the spirit of that world. The Wyrd is a concept from Old English literature that seems to refer to: fate, chance, luck and ones doom. In this system the Wyrd is "the world" and players are trying to align their Will to the Wyrd and so cause the world to go the way that they wish.  

What am I downloading?

There is a pdf for the system with an example of its use, and explanations of some of the features of it, including the odds (which can seem punishing at first glance, but really aren't). This is currently in my medieval style that I am developing for The Wyrd Lands.

There is also a word doc with a plain text version.

I love the philosophy and ideas behind this system. It reminds me a lot of Push SRD by Cezar Capale. I think a helpful addition would be some complication tables that are genre specific for different types or a generic set. I only suggest this because sometimes as the DM or solo player I struggle to pick a result that feels fair or close enough to the intended result of the dice and fiction. 

Wow! This looks like  a lovely minimalist system and it feels very intuitive. I think it will translate into solo play really well.
